Terms
The ground rules for using Lumo, in plain words.
Draft, not yet reviewed by a lawyer. This page may change before Lumo launches.
Last updated: October 2026 (draft).
What Lumo is
Lumo is an AI companion, not a person and not a therapist. It offers friendly conversation, reflection and simple calming exercises. It does not give medical, legal or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for professional help or for people in your life.
Not an emergency service
Lumo cannot call anyone or send help. If you or someone else may be in danger, contact your local emergency number straight away. See the safety page for support in your region.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older. You are responsible for keeping your device and sign-in secure. One account is for one person.
Using Lumo well
- Be kind to the people in the app and to us, and do not use Lumo to harm anyone.
- Do not try to break, copy or reverse-engineer the service, or use it to build a competing one.
- Lumo is an AI and can be wrong. Check anything important with a qualified person.
Plans and payment
The first session is free, with a small amount of free time each week. A paid plan gives you more minutes each month. Price, free trial length and renewal date are shown before you pay. Subscriptions are billed by Apple, renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and are managed or cancelled in your Apple account settings. Refunds follow Apple's policies. [Launch task: confirm plan numbers and prices against the final offering.]
Your content
What you say is yours. You give us permission to process it only to run Lumo for you, as described in the privacy policy.
Changes and endings
We may update Lumo and these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app first. You can stop at any time and delete your account in Settings. We may suspend accounts that put others at risk.
Our responsibility
We work hard to keep Lumo kind, available and safe, but we provide it “as is”. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law where you live. [Launch task: governing law, liability wording and consumer-law carve-outs to be set by a lawyer.]
